Roundwood
Thanks to its geographic diversity and the use of various forest management methods
the Swiss forestry is able to supply a large variety of timber species, qualites
and dimensions. Approximately 25% of the Swiss roundwood output is exported. A
well developed transport infrastructure by rail and road facilitates international
connections. A long experience with exporting and well developed language skills
help to initiate new business contacts. Multiple forest certification systems
such as FSC and PEFC are widely used in Switzerland.
